- What's it like?...
- It's a delicate
melon/citrus off the top, but when you give it a
minute, the citrus dries down into a sour twist
of persimmon. The persimmon never overrides the
citrus, just matches it as they dry down into the
warm amber base. The idea, once again from
Armani, is of being "undestatedly
elegant."
- When to wear it...
- Hot summer nights -
or a relaxing day on the beach in the shade...
- How it lasted on
me...
- About 1/2 day.
- The bottle...
- Clear, frosted glass,
in a short, flattened-out cylinder. The top is a
silvery gray.
- Miscellaneous
details...
- Just so you don't sound funny when
you ask for Giò in the store, I thought I'd clarify the
pronunciation: It sounds like "jo." The name Gio'
is actually the nickname Giorgio Armani's friends gave him.
They got it from the last part of his first name - Giorgio.
Armani designed this fragrance to "Smell like the skin
after a day on the beach and in the ocean under the hot sun."
Of course, all of this takes place on his island, Pantelleria,
off the coast of Italy.
- In my opinion...
- I wasn't crazy about
it at first, but as I've worn it I've come to
appreciate it's subtle characteristics. I wish it
could last longer.
