- What's it
like?...
- It starts out
smelling like a race car garage- which to
my satisfaction scares most people away.
Ah, but if they only tried it on
the skin... DKMen has notes of
suede, tobacco, citrus and fuel resin.
Yes, fuel resin. Don't
be scared- try it!
- When to
wear it...
- This one's
very casual. Definitely
an everyday fragrance. It has
a "who cares" feel to it.
-You'll see...
- How it
lasted on me...
- Really well.
About 3/4 of the day.
- The
bottle...
- Donna Karan's
husband, Stephen Weiss, used to race
cars, fly airplanes, rock climb- the
whole nine yards. The bottle was
designed to resemble the comfort of a
stick shift (not a gun- I'm so sick of
hearing that- sheesh) reminding himself
of his race car days. The pewter
color encasing is a gun-metal
plating, called a "living
patina." When you pick up the
bottle, the plating picks up the oils
from your fingertips. After time,
the fingerprints will darken and become
permanent- creating a bottle that becomes
more personal with age.
- Miscellaneous
details...
- When it came
time for Donna Karan to come up with a
men's fragrance, she wanted something
that reminded her of her husband.
So she set out with Stephen in
search of very masculine, intense
notes. They found 'em!
- If you ask
me...
- I think it's
great! I wasn't so sure in the
beginning either, but when I learned more
about it (such is life) I really grew to
like it! My wife and I love it so
much, she begged me to wear it on our
wedding day- which of course I gladly
obliged.
